Quick easy crochet headband pattern
The free Ribbons and Grace headband pattern is a quick, easy, approximately 1-hour project that still looks special. If you struggle with having time to crochet, but want an accessory that looks like you spent a lot more work on it this design fits the bill beautifully. It looks nice with jeans, but can also be part of a more dressed-up ensemble. You could even crochet it as a last-minute gift idea for a friend!
If flowers aren’t your style, the headband still looks cute plain. Or if you prefer, you can crochet a flower of your own choosing and attach that instead. It’s completely up to you as to how to decorate it! I used Red Heart Super Saver in “Buff” because of how versatile and “no fuss” it is. This yarn comes in a wide variety of colors so if a light tan isn’t your thing try Grey Heather, Coffee, Oatmeal, or, for a bright pop of color, Coral! So many fun options for this cute crochet ear warmer pattern!
Finish this easy crochet headband project in about an hour, and wear it with your favorite outfit tonight!

hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
st/sts = stitch/stitches
sp/sps = space/spaces
prev = previous
Additional Terms:
BLO = back loop only
Working in the 3rd loop of hdc: Look at the top of the stitch, and locate the sideways “V”, bend the stitch to look at the back, and you should see another “V”. You’ll be working into the back loop of that “V”, this is called the 3rd loop.
Gauge:
15 hdc stitches in 4″
Measurements:
Child: 9″ long x 3.5″ wide. (19″-20″ head circumference)
Small/Medium Adult: 10″ long x 4″ wide. (21″-22″ head circumference)
Large/X-Large Adult: 11″ long x 4″ wide. (23″-24″ head circumference)
Additional Notes:
-ch-1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch.
-Stitch counts are very important to keep track of in this pattern. The wider part of the headband should always be 60 stitches long, the narrow part should always be 18.
-Each round will be started in the same stitch as join. This is to make sure the pattern does not skew diagonally.
-A stitch marker will be very helpful in keeping on top of stitch counts.
-This pattern can be made bigger or smaller by adjusting your chain length in multiples of 6. It should fit heads 21″-23″ around as written.
