Welcome to Fashion Feature Friday!: the part of the program where I show you 3 fun ways to style your crochet pieces for everyday wear! This week I’m showing off 3 spring outfits to go with my Simply Lace Scarf that will have you looking your best with minimal effort, whether you’re off on a date night, attending a Mother’s Day brunch, or hanging out with friends enjoying a musical performance in the park! This scarf pattern is easy to master, and was the first pattern I wrote when playing around with thread. It calls for #3 Fashion Crochet Thread by Red Heart but any lightweight or DK weight yarn should give a similar feel. In keeping with spring, all 3 looks have flowery details!

Since Mother’s Day is almost upon us, I’ve chosen this fun and colorful sundress for a Mother’s Day celebration. Match the floral pattern in the dress to the color of your scarf. If you want a little more shoulder coverage, look for a dress with wider straps, or add a lightweight, short-sleeve blazer or sweater. Add heels for a sophisticated look (flats would also look nice if heels aren’t your thing), and either wear the scarf as a scarf, or as a wrap. The width is adjustable when making this pattern, so you decide how you want it to look!
Next up I have a couple of outfits that could double for date night or time out with friends. One is a darker/warmer look, and the other a lighter/brighter look.
For the darker/warmer look, I’ve paired a mustard yellow jacket with a long flowing top that has hints of teal to match the scarf. Throw on a pair of Capri jeans or shorts for a casual look. Dress things up with a pair of long, tailored shorts. Gold heels, and copper colored nail polish complete the look.
I’ve paired a lace “sweater” over a beautiful floral print top, keeping things light and airy. Purple shoes tie in the color of the flowers and add interest to the bottom part of this outfit. Gold nail polish finishes off the look with some sparkle.
