Welcome to the Secret Garden Tote (or Market bag) Crochet-a-long! Can you believe it’s almost the middle of June? Me neither, which means it’s high time to crochet a nice looking market bag to take to the beach, or out to a farmer’s market, right! Since this bag is crocheted with cotton yarn it is reusable, and is the perfect tote to carry groceries home in.
How to crochet an easy market bag
Below is a list of the materials you’ll need to get a hold of, as well as definitions for the crochet stitches you’ll be using to create this market bag. Once you have your materials gathered you’re ready to begin part 1 of the crochet-a-long (also abbreviated “CAL”). If you get stuck please swing by my Facebook group and ask your questions there. It’s a great place to visit with many helpful people, so don’t be shy. 😊
This tote can be made without the ribbon tie for those of you who would prefer a more functional/utilitarian bag. I’ll be explaining exactly how to make those adjustments in the 2nd part of the CAL.
