The “Primrose and Proper stitch pattern has been one of my signature designs for years. It is easy to crochet and can be used in making so many things from scarves to blankets, hats, and fingerless gloves.
What is the Primrose and Proper Crochet Stitch Pattern?
This easy crochet stitch pattern features a braided line with lace eyelets. If you’re looking for a feminine stitch that’s not overly frilly, the Primrose and Proper design is a good choice.
More specifically, these patterns combines the Primrose stitch with hdc in the 3rd loop to create a pleasing, somewhat knit-look fabric. This stitch combination looks best in #4 Worsted weight yarn, but it also works in #3 Light Weight yarn as well. In my experience it does not work so nicely with finer weights of yarn or thread because the prettiness of the Primrose stitch “eyelets” gets a bit lost since the lines are so close together.
The following is a collection of my Primrose and Proper patterns. More will be added to this page as I get them designed. The instructions are all free to follow on my site, or you can pick up print-optimized PDFs on Ravelry.
